[TF2] Team Fortress 2 Update Released

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

Added 10 new Steam Workshop items
- http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=10864
Added new promo items
Fixed the in-game UI not using the Language setting from the TF2 Properties dialog in the Steam UI
Fixed not hearing the Loose Cannon impact sound when playing on dedicated servers

Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012 weigert sich auf Festplatten mit weniger als 90GB zu installieren.

Dies ist vor allem ärgerlich bei kleinen SSD’s oder Virtuellen Servern.

Mit einem einfachen Trick kann man Windows 8 / 2012 aber doch dazu bewegen auf kleineren Partitionen zu installieren. Völlig ohne geändertem Installationsmedium.

Installiert wird Windows 8 / 2012 erst völlig normal vom gewünschten Medium. Also ISO (bsp. VM) oder DVD.

LVM Image Backup und Restore mit pbzip2

Vorteil von pbzip2: Multicore Unterstützung.

An pbzip2 wird mittels dem -p Switch definiert wieviele CPU-Kerne benutzt werden dürfen. In dem Beispiel sind es zwei (-p2).

Backup:

	Source code
1	nohup dd if=/dev/<LVM Gruppe>/<LVM Disk> bs=512K \| pbzip2 -p2 -9 > <Backupname>.bz2 &

Restore:

	Source code
1	nohup pbzip2 -p2 -dcf <Backupname>.bz2 \| dd of=/dev/mapper/<LVM Disk in welche das Backup gespielt werden soll> &
